On cruises, there are suggested dress codes for different nights, such as an Elegant night, Caribbean night, 80s night, Scarlet Night, etc. 

For my birthday in January 2025, some friends asked what our group dress code would be for our 3-night birthday cruise on the Navigator of the Seas.

I already knew that night 2 was Elegant night and that night 3 was Caribbean night. With our first nights dress code still undecided, I declared, “Let’s dress up as Minions on day one of the cruise!”

Minions seem like fun, loving characters, and their uniform is relatively simple to recreate. Plus, I love the idea of a multitude of Minions roaming around on a cruise ship.

Yellow and Blue are the Minion Theme Colors. I didn’t own any denim overalls, or a long sleeve yellow shirt so that’s where AMAZON solved my costuming needs.

An extra BONUS about this MINION costume. It is SO comfortable! I now have a HUGE appreciation for overalls. In fact, now that I have overalls, I would take up farming if I could do it on a cruise ship.

The overalls are a bit bulky for packing, so we have flown across country in our MINION blue & yellow colors. We’ve taken more photos with complete strangers in airports than I can count. We even have some pics with some friendly TSA agents.

So far, we have dressed up as MINIONS on The Navigator of the Seas, The Wonder of the Seas, The Explorer of the Seas, The Anthem of the Seas, and very soon The Quantum of the Seas and the Carnival Radiance.
